Why the value of the reset reason register is not correct when nRF52832 based s132_nrf52_6.1.0?

Dear,

         When I use the s132_nrf52_6.1.0 for nRF52832,  I find that the value of the  reset reason register is not correct by using the function "sd_power_reset_reason_get()". And the value is always 0x01 whenever whether the nRF52832 is waken up from power off mode by a GPIO pin trigger.

       

      But when I use the s132_nrf52_2.0.1 for nRF52832,  I find that the value is correct.

      I do not know which reason has resulted in this problem.

Hi,

First of all you need to clear the RESETREAS bits after reading them. Please check out sd_power_reset_reason_clr.

I think maybe the reason why you see this in one project but not the other is because the CONFIG_GPIO_AS_PINRESET is defined as a compile flag in one of them. If this is defined the pin reset bit will be set when you power on the device, and it will be there until you clear it.

You should also be aware of this errata: http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.nrf52832.Rev1.errata/anomaly_832_136.html?cp=2_1_1_1_1_37 and specifically the workaround implemented in later SDKs. The workaround will only keep the pin reset bit if more than one bit is set.

So make sure that CONFIG_GPIO_AS_PINRESET is not defined and be sure to handle (clearing) all types of reset reasons in your code.
