Will the S310 stack run on a nRF51822

I was looking at the product brief for the nRF51922 - which states the SoC can handle both BT BLE and ANT concurrently. The product brief states:

Pin-compatible hardware and a familiar interface on the S310 for existing Nordic S110 (Bluetooth low energy) and S210 (ANT+) SoftDevice users means Nordic customers that already have an nRF51 Series ANT+ or Bluetooth low energy product will be able to keep existing hardware design and firmware unchanged, and only add needed firmware support for the new protocol stack when adopting the nRF51922

Does this mean that if I load the S310 stack into an nRF51822 that it will handle both protocols, or only that the nRF51922 is pin for pin compatible, and the 822 SoC will need to be replaced with a 922 SoC?

  • The nRF51922 doesn't exist anymore, SoftDevice S210 and SoftDevice S310 works with the nRF51422, in addition to SoftDevices S110, S120 and S130.

The nRF51822 only works with SoftDevices S110, S120, and the S130.

The nRF51422 and the nRF51822 are pin compatible.
