Can a relay node that passes data from client nodes to other relay nodes, to also produce and transmit its own data?

Yes, this is possible. A client node for example can also be a relay node.Is there a specific usecase you are thinking of?

I want to create a mesh network of (client + relay) nodes and one server node.

I was thinking of a configuration where clients will be able to transmit their own sensor data and at the same time to be able to receive and transmit sensor data from other clients in the mesh. This way I will not need separate client and relay devices for the sensor data to reach the server node
