Does Nordic support nrf51822 development using the Segger IDE?

I am searching for a stable development environment for the Nordic nrf51822.  I have been unable to get adequate support for issues using eclipse.  The tutorial for Nordic/Segger IDE indicates that the the first "officially supported" family is nrf52.  Does this imply that my efforts to develop using the Segger IDE are in vain, or might I have a good chance of getting this environment up and running, and are there any tutorials for doing so?

Hi,

Officially there is no support for SES for nRF51 series. SES support was first introduced in SDK 14.1.0, while nRF51 support was deprecated in SDK 13.0.0. You can take a look at this blog post, describing how to import a Keil project in Segger Embedded Studio.
