Is there a way to increase the 8 connection limit of S120?

We have implemented serialization for S120 and are offloading most of the processing load to a different host machine. We want to establish multiple connections. In various forum posts that I have read on devzone, it seems that the max number of connections = 8 is a hard-coded number inside the S120 softdevice. Is there a way to change this max value?

The S120 SoftDevice is limited to 8 concurrent connections, with or without serialization. See the S120 SoftDevice Specification for more information.

If you need more than 8 concurrent connections, you may want to investigate other protocols, for example ANT.
