ble_app_buttonless_dfu application download issue

Hello Nordic team

I am working on nRF52832 DK with SDkv15.2. Example code ble_app_buttonless_dfu.

I have created successfully bootloader and zip file to update the firmware and it's working correctly.

My question is, if I change the ble_app_buttonless_dfu firmware and load the firmware via KEIL to Dev Kit it's started "dfuTarg" so I have only one way to load the firmware via DFU. Is this right behavior/way to load firmware for ble_app_buttonless_dfu example code?

Please let me know if you didn't understand my questions.

Any update on above question? If Keil downloaded firmware not work with "ble_app_buttonless_dfu" example code then development and debugging process will takes much time.

I don't know if this is what you mean, but when you are using the bootloader when you flash your code by jtag, you also need to flash the bootloader setting page. On startup the BL check if the code version is matching.. You can use the mergehex tool to merge your firmware with the setting page or flash them separately. You can find more information about this in the Infocenter

Hi Raj, 

As JF mentioned, you need to flash the bootloader setting. Another option is to remove the app valid and CRC checking in the bootloader so it won't check if there is a valid app or check if CRC matched. But this is only for development, for production you need to make sure you turn on that check again.

Thanks for reply. Could you please let me know how to remove the app valid and CRC checking in bootloader for development? So that I can easily download the modified firmware via Keil IDE.

Hi JF, I have downloaded the merged setting and firmware via nRFGo studio and it started advertising but after downloading firmware from Keil IDE again it started "DfuTrag".

I just wanted to load the modified firmware (buttnless_dfu example code) via Keil IDE for just development.

Do you know any documentation for this or can you just send me the steps?
