Connecting RF52 Dev kit to the Android app

I am trying to run the example from this page:
www.nordicsemi.com/.../Getting-started-with-the-nRF52-Development-Kit

I have PCA100040 somehow after running blinky and others and erase the firmware by the Segger IDE and also by the iOS terminal cannot get the  1,2,3,4 buttons light the leds like it did on first connection. Is there a way to reinstall the first program? 

Also, and more importantly, when NFC is enabled on the phone (Android P OS) there is no NFC connection.

What should be the strategy to connect the devkit to the phone without a dongle. 

What should be done to resolve this situation?  Any help well appreciated

If you've erased the whole chip, you will need to re-program the SoftDevice before you can do anything with Bluetooth.

I have successfully make flash the ble_peripheral_blinkey (via gcc)  app but still cannot detect the blue tooth from my phone?

and have you programmed the SoftDevice?

no I did not! Now I did and it is connected by Bluetooth:
    make flash_softdevice 

did the trick. 

I wonder  how to get NFC to also work now?  Why do I see "connected" and but it is not "bonded" 

Just trying to figure out how to work with this development kit. Appreciate your help
