Keil uVision 5 -- w/ SDK6.1.0 -- now getting errors!

Just finished upgrading to the latest SDK Version -- and trying to build some of the examples -- but consistently getting compilation errors when building any of the nRF51822 examples :

........\Source\app_common\app_timer.c(700): error: #268: declaration may not appear after executable statement in block

Is there a setting that I'm missing? When I Google around -- it seems as tho this is perceived to be a real error -- and not compliant coding style?
