KiCad library update for nRF9160

Hi Nordic Community

I'm busy developing a board around the nRF9160. Do you have a KiCad library/component for the SOC, do I need to make one myself, and if you do have one will you be adding it to > kicad-library/library/nordicsemi.lib anytime soon to make it easier for us?

Hi Roger.

When the nRF9160 is released at the 12.12.2018, Altium and Gerber files will be available for download. As far as I can see that GitHub repo you linked is not run by anyone at Nordic, so nothing will be added there to my knowledge.

I had wanted to get a board built pre-launch but I understand. Will I be able to use the Altium and Gerber files in KiCad?

Hi Roger.

I'm unsure if KiCad are able to use Altium files, I suggest you contact KiCad and ask them. The Gerber format should be supported, as it is the de facto standard image format in PCB softwares.
