my peripheral device is heating up

hi......

 my peripheral device is heating up quickly what is the way to reduce or avoid heating of the device ?

when i put my device in sleep mode more than the wake up mode , is it possible to reduce /avoid heat generation ?

suggest me an idea in order to avoid/reduce the heating of the device

Significant heating is usually due to wrong connection in the design. Could you provide me with the schematics of your design?
