To Develop a Zigbee Mesh

I need to confirm before buying, whether the nRF52840 chip and the nRF52840 development board can be used to develop a Zigbee Mesh.

Also whether "nRF5 SDK for Thread and Zigbee" can be used on the nRF52840  to develop home automation products ?

Can we commercialize our products using that SDK ?

Does Nordic have enough support provided for Zigbee Solutions using the nRF52840 ?

    - Yes, the nRf52840 is what you want.

    - Yes to both. From nRF5 SDK for Thread and Zigbee v2.0.0 release notes"

'This release is the production-ready release of the Zigbee features available on the nRF52840 chip.
The nRF52840 running the Zigbee stack conforms to Zigbee PRO R21 + Green Power Proxy specifications. The Zigbee stack provided by the release has been successfully tested in Zigbee Alliance Authorized Test Laboratory and has received formal approval from Zigbee Alliance as a Zigbee Compliant Platform.
The Nordic Zigbee software solution released as part of nRF5 SDK for Thread and Zigbee incorporates the Base Device Behavior
specification and the latest of the ZCL specification (ver. 7). This enables to build, certify, and ship commercial Zigbee 3.0 Certified Products.'

That is a bit hard of a question to answer. We do not have as good support for ZigBee as BLE, but it will be enough to get you to the market with your product. We're using the ZBOSS stack, if you're already familiar with it then development should be easy. We've also got a team dedicated to the zigbee SDK that are able to help us out.

We do schematics and layout reviews, and we also provide a free antenna tuning service if needed. I suggest you send schematics and layout for review early in their development as 2.4GHz PCB design must be prioritized over other circuits.
