Data acquisition speed using pc-ble-driver for nRF52840 dongle

Hi,

As per the forum thread https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/37591/nrf-connect-for-desktop-max-throughput/144881#144881 there is a limitation in data acquisition speed for a PC application like nRFConnect when using the pc-ble-driver. The max speed when run at a connection interval of 7.5ms is about 260Kbps as described in the thread.

We have a requirement for higher data throughput acquisition on a laptop using nRF52840 dongle. The data speeds between two nRF52840 (two eval boards) could reach close to 1Mbps but the same is not being achieved due to the limitation at the pc-ble-driver.js.

Is there a plan to provide higher data throughput between the nRF52840 dongle and the pc-ble-driver for the PC application to acquire data faster?

Hi,

I do not believe there is any active work being done in order to increase the maximum throughput of the pc-ble-driver and connectivity firmware. It has been requested from time to time, but I do not believe it is a big push for it. If that is a important feature for you, I recommend you to discuss with your Nordic sales representative as they are in a better position to comment on (and influence) future plans.
