nRF52 DK as stand-alone programmer

Hello everybody,

I can flash my custom nRF52832-based PCB using the nRF52 DK and Segger Embedded Studio or nrfjprog, but this requires that I always have my computer with me.

I'd like to load my .hex firmware onto the nRF52 DK, connect it to my custom board through SWD and flash it by simply pressing a button.

That's why I'm asking, is it possible to use the nRF52 DK as a stand-alone programmer? Do you have any instructions for doing this?

There is a blog here that could be helpful, but no ready made solution as far as I know. What is your use case? have you considered buying a segger flasher?

We are entering the production over small volumes at the moment, and as a general startup rule we are trying to save resources when possible :)

The IDAP-Link CMSIS-DAP JTAG can do what you need.  Copy the hex onto a microSD card, insert it in the IDAP-Link and press the button.
