What is db_discovery_init?

What is the function of db_discovery_init (); , I am migrating a code from SDK 8 to SDK 14.2 and I can not find that function, I do not know what library it contains or how it works, I hope someone can help me, thanks

The db_discovery_init() is the initializing function for the discovering module. The module is documented in detail here. You should also use the migration guides that are also available on infocenter for each major update.
