nRF52 DK short-circuited

Hi,

We were working on a board that communicates with another board from a customer. It seems that the customer's board has voltage spikes sometime (it has 110 VAC signals), and damaged 3 of our nRF52 DK boards.

We were able to find the problem, and is a short-circuit between VDD and GND caused by the ATSAM3UCA-AU. We want to buy this interface MCU and replace it in the damaged DK boards. Do you have any information on how to load the firmware into the interface MCU?

That would be the Segger.  You could replace it but then you wouldn't have the firmware since it is proprietary to Segger and is not published. You will have to buy new DKs to solve your problem.  

Or you could just remove the Segger, all it provides is the SWD/USB bridge and the virtual UART port.  You would then need to program the nRF directly via SWD with some other programmer.

That is the problem, I'm using the DK to program a nRF52832 in a custom design.

Hi,

You can find the bootloader for the onboard debugger here (or more specifically here). Once you have flashed that, you can use this j-linky .hex file: 3566.J-Link OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi 160315.bin
