nRF52 DK debug-out to Laird BL651 module

Hi Sir,
I am use Laird BL651 module, which use nRF52810. I am use nRF52 DK debug output (P19 and P20) connect to our board, but the nRFgo studio not able to detect device. and use Jlink command always connect to on board device (the CPU ID always same). Pretty sure wiring is correct but both port (P19/P20) are same situation.

Does anything else I do need pay attention? does nRF52 debug-out supports BL651 module? and does there has any way to test nRF52_DK debug output?

The nRF52 DK - or, more specifically, its onboard JLink - neither knows nor cares anything about the module; all it sees is the chip on the SWD interface.

Have you checked with Laird if their module supports an external debugger and, if it does, whether there are any special considerations?

So post a schematic of your connection.

Have you remembered to connect GND and VDD - as well as the SWD and Reset lines ?

Hi Awneil,

Found root cause not don't know how to fix it.

The debug out not works in my desktop computer (win10) but it works in my laptop computer (win10). The cable are same and confirm nRFgo and Jlink version are exactly same too.

Any thought?

A grounding issue?

Hard to tell, looks no differences between PC and laptop.

And the group creation to my board and nRF52_DK is same, exactly same cable.

if assumes computer group issue then how is on board nRF52832 works properly. honestly, I have no idea. if there has anyone know how to fix it, please let me know, I do need back to working on project.

The big difference between a laptop & a desktop PC is that a desktop will usually be grounded via its mains supply cable, whereas a laptop won't.

A laptop will be "floating".

Do you mean, "ground connection" ?

You still haven't shown your schematic of how you connect the DK to your board.

Do you have experienced colleagues/supervisors/teachers locally who can help you? This kind of thing is really hard to diagnose remotely!

Understood it is hard to fix it remotely.

I am good to work with laptop now.

That link only shows the pinout of the connector on the DK!

You need to show the schematic of how you have connected that to your board - and how your board connects its connector to the nRF chip.
