Is Flash retention time affected if we erase a page 10K cycles ?

Hello

We would like to know if we erase/write a page beyond the 10K cycles, is the retention time decreasing ?

Do you have a graph or a table of the retention time showing this phenomenon ?

Thanks

  • Hi,

For the nRF52810 and the nRF52840, the erase time is equal regardless of the amount of erase/write cycles performed.

Do you have a graph or a table of the retention time showing this phenomenon ?

Given that the time is constant, with jitter based on the HFCLK source, it will be quite stable regardless of how many r/w cycles has been performed,.

    Kind regards,

  • Your reply is not exactly responding to my question: Is the retention of the program/data in the Flash after more than  10K cycles is still of several years ?

  • Sorry for misunderstanding! I read your question a bit too quick.

The flash retention itself is specified to be > 10 years, and the amount of r/w cycles is specified to > 10k cycles. Based on our specification, the answer would be yes. The flash retention specification shall not be weakened by performing 10k r/w cycles.

Flash retention shall be held per specification when performing flash r/w cycles (specified to be min. 10k cycles).

    Kind regards,
