nRF9160 module in stand-alone mode with UART Only out of the box

Hi everybody,

I would like to know how the module nRF9160 comes from the factory in it default configuration.

Is it possible to use it in UART mode only with the pin 86(P0.28 TXD) and 87(P0.29 RXD) without any flashing procedure ?

to be sure you understand my point here is a different way to explain it : 

Will it be possible to design a board that just provide Enable, VDD, GND, VDD_GPIO, RX, TX and the antenna to the module nRF9160 and control it with AT command?

Or will It be mandatory to flash another software than the factory version provided in the module ?

thank you for your action but witch pin can I use to communicate with the module through UART while it comes from the factory (in the original configuration)

None I would expect, since you need to flash software through SWD first.
