How can I use two UART interface in nRF51822 at the same time?

Hi,

I have a project which need to use two UART interface at the same time.

As well known, there only have one hardware UART interface in nRF51822/nRF52832.  If I want to create second UART interface, maybe I need use software method to simulate it.

Would you please tell me how can I simulate UART protocol by software?

By the way, the method to create software UART is the same between nRF51822 and nRF52832?

Hi Chianglin

Simulating a software UART will not work with our nRF5x chips. The SoftDevice does not allow for any accurate software simulations like UART. I suggest you look for an external RS232 multiplexor that is attached via SPI, I2C or similar.

Or a separate UART-to-SPI/i2C bridge chip.

Do you need a full UART, or will just transmit do?

I think the nRF52840 has 2 UARTs ... ?
