Softcore / Bootloader / JTAG programmer

Hi Folks,

I'm new at using the nRF52832 chip.  I recently was handed a 3rd party board to evaluate and up until today I was able to use the nRF52 Development Kit to act as a JTAG programmer between SEGGER Embedded Studio and my 3rd party board.

Now when I try to do "Target->Connect J-Link"   instead of connecting to my board (via the dev kit), it throws up a GUI:

I'm figuring some how I hosed the bootloader and/or the Softcore running on the dev kit.  (I'm not sure if both are needed if I'm only using the Dev Kit as a JTAG programmer.)

Also, I've looked into finding bootloaders and it seems I have to recompile them before I can use them.  Are there pre-compiled bootloaders (for example what comes as default on the dev kits?)

Note I am able to hold the BOOT/RESET button and turn the board on and see it show up on my PC (before timing out).  What file should I copy to the Bootloader directory?

Thanks much for any help.  I'm evaluating a 3rd party board that we would like to put into production in the March time frame.
