Can't change "Random Static address" to "Private Resolvable address" in "BLE Advertising - a beginners tutorial"

Using SES v4.12 for ARM on Win8 PC, nRF52840 DK board and nRF5_SDK_15.0.0 

Following this great tutorial https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/tutorials/b/bluetooth-low-energy/posts/ble-advertising-a-beginners-tutorial to this point

and I find the gap_params_init() in main.c , but its using other structs that doesn't have the member variables needed to insert the

code from the tutorial. Getting compile errors. 

Does the tutorial need an update to work with nRF52840 DK ( and Thingy52 pca20020 )?

Hi,

The code snippet from the tutorial doesn't use the ble_gap_conn_params_t struct but creates a new struct prvt_conf of type ble_gap_privacy_params_t that has the member variable privacy_mode. I suggest that you try to copy the code snippet to the end of gap_params_inti() without modifying it.

Thanks that fixed it :) It was "add these four lines"  and then listed seven lines of code that confused me. 

I am using nRF Connect for Mobile, and I can't find the location where  'Address type will still show up as “Random” '?

but reset cause the 52840 to use a new "MAC" addr. So that is fine.
