I can play with at client and asset tracker demo with my SIM card but I don't know the network type of my SIM card.
Can anyone tell me how to determine Cat-M1 or Cat-NB1 or any other network type is using on the demo by the SIM card?
I can play with at client and asset tracker demo with my SIM card but I don't know the network type of my SIM card.
Can anyone tell me how to determine Cat-M1 or Cat-NB1 or any other network type is using on the demo by the SIM card?
maybe this information could help:
SIM card 1: +CGDCONT: 0,"IP","CMIOT.MNC004.MCC460.GPRS","10.60.16.17",0,0\x0D\x0A
SIM card 2: +CGDCONT: 0,"IP","CMNBIOT.MNC004.MCC460.GPRS","100.73.39.225",0,0\x0D\x0A
I was told that SIM card 2 was Cat-NB1(NB-IoT).
1. Does the log of SIM card 2 means it is the Cat-NB1 SIM card?
2. And about SIM card 1: what kind of network "CMIOT" means?
3. What "CM???" would it be if Cat-M1 SIM card?
Hi Li,
From the AT command reference manual, AT+CGDCONT? (The +CGDCONT command defines Packet Data Protocol (PDP) Context.):
You can see that the part you are talking about is the Access Point Name (APN): "The name of a gateway between a mobile network and another computer network, usually the Internet.".
From the log you sent, it looks like SIM card 1 has LTE-M support, while SIM card 2 has NB-IOT support.
This APN name depends on your network provider as well, so most likely the information about the difference between this APN names should be listed on your network provider homepage.
Thank you. I will do more test to verify it.
Thank you Martin.
SIM card 1 and SIM card 2 both used the Cat-NB1 firmware. SIM card 1 and SIM card 2 don't work with Cat-M1 firmware.
I got this information from SIM card 1 vendor:
SIM card 1 didn't use the IOT network. It use 2G,3G or 4G traditional network.
