PCA10059 Bootloader

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before.  I am interested in trying out the Adafruit arduino implementation for the NRF52840.  The implementation uses it's own bootloader and is fairly simple to get going on the DK as it has the built in Segger.  However, I can't do a simple usb update of the bootloader on a dongle as it is expecting signed firmware.

I know I'm being lazy but rather than trying to cobble up a programming cable and flashing the dongle directly would it be possible for Nordic to provide a signed "unlocking" bootloader that functions as normal but also allows end users to then put in a custom bootloader?

Hi Dave

We do not have an "unlocking" bootloader, so you have to get your hands dirty I guess. If we had one, it would likely be very easy to put the dongle in a state where you would have to connect a debugger to recover it, which probably cause more trouble than it is worth.

I thought that might be the case.....   I guess I'll have to go and break my dongles by myself!
