using nrf9160 over UART from external Microcontroller

Hello,

I want to access the nrf9160 over UART from other controller My main concern is to program nrf9160 to respond with at commands from external microcontroller. (Just want to use nrf9160 as a modem for NB-IoT).

I have development kit with me and I am able to send and at command using on-board microcontroller with the help of nrf Connect for Desktop. Now I want to attach external microcontroller to uart pins of nrf9160. But I don't know how to proceed.

I can not find any documentation explaining how to do it.  Can someone pleas help me out?

We have a at_client example, but that is not what you are looking for, as you cannot create IP connections using this and it is only intended for evaluating a LTE link.

It sounds like you want a thin modem application, which we do not have.
