Wakeup by button with minimal standby current

Dear Colleagues,

I'd appreciate your advice on the selecting external or internal  pullup or pulldown design for a wake up button which would cause minimal increase in current consumption in standby mode.

According to the PS, internal pull up and pull down resistors both have a typical value of 13kΩ. So if you go for the internal setup there won't be any difference in choosing pullup or pulldown. Seeing as you will be able to decide these resistors yourself if you go for the external set-up, you will likely be able to achieve a lower current consumption this way, however the internal setup is energy efficient enough for most applications. In the end a well set up external will cause a lower current consumption increase, and choosing pull up or down is entirely up to you as it should not have any impact on the current consumption.

    Best regards
