nRF52840 DK - Unable to flash with Arduino shield attached

Hi,

I'm using SEGGER Embedded Studio in order to build and flash my applications on nRF52840 DK.

I have observed the following behavior:

I try flash the application  trough USB (JLINK), but when I try it with Arduino Shield connected, I get this message from SEGGER Embedded Studio:

The only way I can flash sucesfully is disconnecting the Arduino shield. Then, no problem with flashing.

I'm working with AVNET NB-IoT sensor shield.

Does the shield connect anything to the P20 header on the nRF52840 DK?

Nothing is connected to P20 header.

Are you sure that these pads do not touch the VTG pin on P20?

Supplying that with voltage makes the Segger debugger think there is an external board connected to P20, and it directs all J-link traffic onto that instead of the nRF on the DK. Could you try to increase the spacing between the shield and the DK a little, or just put a sticker or something on top of it?

Oh, It's true! the pads you draw touch the pins.

Increasing the spacing fixed the problem, thank you!
