Continuous switching of application UART Initialization pins(RX & TX).

Hi Every one,

In my application i want to use two UART's simultaneously, for that i am doing continuous switching of UART communication pins.

I am able to communicate with two UARTs, problem is that after sometime NRF is getting stopped by itself, is there any problem with continuous shifting of pins???

{

/* how i am shifting */

uart_init();

/*doing something with first UART*/

app_uart_close(); /* Closing previous UART*/

nrf_delay_ms(25);

Uart_Init1(); /* initializing Second UART*/

nrf_delay_ms(25);

/* Doing something by second UART*/

app_uart_close(); /*Closing Previous UART*/

nrf_delay_ms(25);

uart_init(); /* re-Initializing previous UART*/

nrf_delay_ms(25);

}

  • Hi.

    Are you using app_uart_init() when you initialize, or uart_init()?

    As far as I know the nrf_drv_uart_init and nrf_drv_uart_uninit calls are synchronous, so as soon as they have returned NRF_SUCCESS you should be able to TX/RX with the new configuration.

    These calls are made in app_uart_init() and app_uart_close().

    Best regards,

    Andreas

  • Sorry for late reply Andreas, Yes i am using uart_init(); only. In this i declare with new pin set of UART.

    Are you using app_uart_init() when you initialize, or uart_init()?

    with different UART handler nothing i have changed in that function.

  • Hi.

    Did you try do call app_uart_close(), and app_uart_init() afterwards with the new pin set?

    Best regards,

    Andreas

  • hi Andreas please check my code, i have used all conditions for UART initialization s.

  • Hi.

    Where are you checking if nrf_drv_uart_init or nrf_drv_uart_uninit are returning NRF_SUCCESS?

    Best regards,

    Andreas

  • Where are you checking if nrf_drv_uart_init or nrf_drv_uart_uninit are returning NRF_SUCCESS?

    In initialization function, see 483 line APP_ERROR_CHECK
