Questions for nRF52810 L4

Hi team,

One of my customer is asking if they can reduce L4 15nH in their nRF52810-CAAA design? If not, what is the function or necessary of the L4, please help to explain.

Thanks!

Leon

  • Hi Leon,

L4 is use as a RF-choke for the switch noise from the DCDC regulator. It's not advisable to remove L4 (unless the customer is not using the DCDC regulator), but you can use inductors in series to optain 15 nH if you want. You can try using two 6.8nH inductors instead of the chunky 15nH, but we haven't test anything else than 15nH, so the customer should test and compare the spectrum between the two options.
