Revision characteristic in DFU service of SDK 7.0.1

Hi

In the new SDK 7.0.1 a new characteristic "Revision" was added to the DFU service. What is the meaning of this revision? In the bootloader library of the SDK the value is set to 0x0005 (-> 0.5). The application example of the SDK sets the value to 0.

My guess would be that the revision referes to the DFU protocol revision.

Will the MCP use this characteristic and how?

It's for the DFU revision as you guessed. You could add a similar revision handle/characteristics for your application as well if you want to.

The MCP will not use the value for more than displaying it. Eventually I guess it could be used to identify behavior and functionality in the DFU, but no plans for implementing this so far.

Thank you for cleraring this up. I'm a bit surprised as this revision won't be used in MCP. It would allow the MCP to be able to handle multiple versions of the DFU protocol (e.g. new Init Packet Handling in DFU from SDK 7.0.1).
