nRF52840 Internal Regulated Power Supply...

Hi,

I am learning nRF52840 development and making a sensor device.

The datasheet of the nRF52840 chip says:

• Regulated supply for external components up to 25 mA

I want to know how to use that internal power supply to drive external 3.3V sensor when using nRF52840 VCC by 3.7V battery which can go upto 4.5v.

(Sensor can have 3.6V max)

Hi,

 

You would have to supply the nRF52840 at the VDDH pin, VDD then becomes a regulated output. See this section in the product specification. Note though that in System OFF, max supply for external circuitry is 1mA, for 25mA you need to stay in System ON.

Hi. Just for clarification, when powering the NRF52840 from VDDH powering a 15mA LED directly from VDD will damage the internal regulator in System OFF mode, or will the LED simply not light?
