why nRF82832 device can not be found by Huawei or Honor smart phone?

Dear Nordic:

My nRF82832 codes based on nRF5_SDK_15.2.0_9412b96 and used s132_nrf52_6.1.0. But I find the Bluetooth signal of nRF82832 can’t be scanned by smart phone which brands are Huawei and Honor when other brands smart phone can scanned nRF82832 like Xiaomi, OPPO and so on.

I also find another problem. The nRF82832 which I purchased 3 months ago can be scanned by Honor smart phone but Huawei smart phone can’t. But the nRF82832 which I recently I purchased can’t be scanned both Honor and Huawei.

The marked information of the nRF82832 which I purchased 3 months ago:(N52832 QFAAE0 1816DF)

The marked information of the nRF82832 which I purchased recently:

I do not know which reason has resulted in such problems.

I will look forward your useful help.

  • Hi

Are you able to sniff the packets sent by the boards? So we can see if something is off in the advertising packets.

Seeing as all other components are of a different brand than the other board, any of those components can be incompatible with the phone you are having trouble with as well. It shouldn't be the nRF as the hardware between these does not have a lot of differences, and it is usually older SoftDevice versions that is incompatible with different phone brands.

So if you can get the sniffer data (Prefferably with both boards to see if there are any differences), we can have a look at those. But beyond that I don't have any specific advise for you on the matter.

    Best regards,

    Simon
