Using traditional beacon for mesh

Please Help,

I want to remove the firmware from traditional beacons and deploy NORDIC FW instead so that i can deploy SDK for mesh on the beacons after that and use it to build a mesh network, is that possible?, and anyone here tried to do that?

I'm unaware of the DFU update procedure and the production of the firmware that comes with the Estimote beacon, it would be best if you asked Estimote in their forum about this.
