NRF52840 VBUS & D+ / D- lines connected to GND allowed?

Hi,

In a design which should be compatible with the NRF52832 we want to use the NRF52840. As the NRF52832 doesn't have USB, this would mean that the VBUS and data lines on the NRF52840 are connected to GND. Is this allowed? And does this lead to any increase in power consumption? (even a few uA would be a problem for us)

Hi,

 

Grounding VBUS is recommended per our reference design when the USB module is not in use. D+ and D- can be left floating or grounded, you should not expect any increase in power consumption either way.
