nRF51822 and J-Link Base connections

I have an nRF51822 design that programs fine from the embedded Segger on the eval board.

However, when I try to connect an actual J-Link Base, I can't seem to get it to recognize the device is even connected in either nRFGo Studio or with J-Link commander.

Do I have to do something screwy because of the lack of a dedicated reset pin? Is there a document somewhere that I missed explaining how to do this?

Thanks.

  • Are you trying to use J-Link Base to program a nRF51822 on your own PCB, or the one on the eval board?

If it is the one on the eval board, you will have to disconnect the the embedded Segger. On EK boards V2.0.0, this is done with SW4 and U4. You still have to solder wires to get to SWDIO and SWDCLK, which is pretty tricky.

If this is your own board, then the 4 signals you need are

CPU VCC so J-Link knows what signal levels to use

    GND

    SWDIO

    SWDCLK

  • I got the same problem. but have not fix it with the above method
