nRF51822 and J-Link Base connections

I have an nRF51822 design that programs fine from the embedded Segger on the eval board.

However, when I try to connect an actual J-Link Base, I can't seem to get it to recognize the device is even connected in either nRFGo Studio or with J-Link commander.

Do I have to do something screwy because of the lack of a dedicated reset pin? Is there a document somewhere that I missed explaining how to do this?

Thanks.

  • What drivers have you installed for the J-link base? If the programmer doesn't show up at all, then it must be related to drivers of the l-link base. Do you see the programmer in "Device manager" in windows (if you're using Windows)?

There's shouldn't be any commands you have to write to be able to detect it, but the correct drivers must be installed before you are able to use it to program the nRF51.
