Unexpected connection termination (at_client)

Dear Nordic Semiconductor team,

I have a problem while running AT_CLIENT application on nRF9160 DK. Firstly, everything goes good, all indicators are green in the LTE Link Monitor and there is a signal strength of about 50% of the maximum, but in about 50 - 120 seconds the signal goes to 0, and I am forced to reset the board and start from the beginning.

I am located in Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia and I use 1NCE sim card. Development kit is running on 0.3.0-94.prealpha firmware. (I have tried the new 0.6.8-30.alpha version, but with that the board does not connect at all).

Do you have any suggestions that might help ?

Thank you a lot in advance.

Best regards,

Murad Lachynov

  • Hello Murad,

I am located in Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia and I use 1NCE sim card.

According to 1NCE's webpage, they have only NB-IoT support in Germany. My guess is that is the issue, and the fact that the nRF9160 DK is delivered with LTE-M FW. Official support for NB-IoT on the nRF9160 DK is planned for April 15th, 2019. See more information here

To test the NB-IoT before that date you can contact your Regional Sales Manager. If you do not know who this is, please PM me and I will forward you the contact details.

    Kind regards,
    Oeyvind
