nrf9160 DK connectivity

Hello Community,

I am looking for some assistance in getting my nrf9160 DK to connect.

I am running the AT_Client sample and LTE Link Monitor. I am in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and have the IBasis SIM card installed.

The board is stuck in not registered, searching status (LTE status switching between yellow and red). I have registered the SIM card several times on the nrf cloud website and have tried taking the board outdoors to give it better reception but am still unable to connect.

I have flashed the board with updated firmware and since then I don't have any LEDs (not even LED 3) blinking.

  • Hi,

Could you post the whole log from LTE Link Monitor so I can have a look?

Have you updated the modem to the latest version (available here)?

    Kind regards,

    Håkon

  • I did update the firmware.

  • Hi Marty,

I checked internally, and in your area, it seems that the Cat M1 band in use in Canada is not yet qualified with the M1 modem.

If you send me a direct message, I can help you get in touch with a local RSM (regional sales manager) that might have more recent updates on this band.

    Kind regards,

    Håkon
