-mfloat-abi default value for nrf52 series

Hello Nordic Support,

I would like to know if I don't specify the CFLAG -mfloat-abi but have floating point calculations in my code for NRF52832 target, does the compiler, by default use the software based floating point operations (i.e -mfloat-abi=soft)?

Hi,

 

According to GCC's documentation, the default behavior will differ from ABI to ABI.

For the arm-none-eabi, it is the softfp that is default, according to this post:

I would recommend that you always state the ABI explicitly in your build configuration to make it clear.
