advertise timeout range

I want to know the time range of advertise timeout. Why it doesn't work if I set the time to 360 seconds? It can work if the time less than 180 seconds. Is the range 0 to 180 seconds?

The advertising timeout is set by according to Bluetooth core spec version 4.1, volume 3, Part C Appendix A

#define BLE_GAP_ADV_TIMEOUT_LIMITED_MAX   180

This applies to all advertising with the intention to create a new bond. The limit doesn't to for example apply to non-connectable advertising such as beacons.

Sidenote: There are also limitations on how long your advertising intervals can be. For example for connectable advertising your maximum connection interval is 10.24 seconds.
