nRF9160 modem is not switching ON

Hi,

I have connected nrf9160-dk to my laptop and using nRF connect v 2.6.2 with LTE link monitor application. 

I am seeing only UART in green and Modem in Red. I am thinking modem is not powered ON.

AT commands also not responding and timed out. 

If Modem is not turned on, how to turn on or make it green in LTE link monitor.

1. Is the modem updated? You can download the latest modem version from here: https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Low-power-cellular-IoT/nRF9160/Download#infotabs

2. Could you try flashing this .hex file and see if it works better afterwards?

"nrfjprog --program uicr_tcxo.hex --sectorerase -f nrf91"

3. Could you post the output from LTE Link Monitor if the above suggestions still fails?

It's working now with at_client sample project.

I wanted NB-IoT firmware for nRF9160-DK, currently public released version is for Cat-M.

Where can I get NB-IoT firmware? atleast alpha or beta verison.

Please create a new thread instead of posting in a 8 month old thread.

According to the GMSA map, there is one provider in your area: https://www.gsma.com/iot/deployment-map/

If you use the at_client, you can issue at command "AT%XSYSTEMMODE=0,1,0,0" prior to enabling the modem with AT+CFUN=1 to enable NB1 mode. If you still do not get a connection, please check with your local provider to see if there is coverage in your area.
