Where can I download the nRF51 SDK?

Hi - where can I download the nRF51 SDK?

    Hi,

You can download the nRF518 SDK here, under the "downoads" tab, in the "software" section.

  • Hi Vince, just to be clear on this, the SDK is available on the Nordic Semi website (www.nordicsemi.com). You will need to create a MyPage account if you do not already have one. You will need to be in possession of a Dev Kit or an Eval Kit to access the SDK. This is done by entering a product key that you will find on the front of the kit.

  • So the SDK essentially costs $99? Is there a reason for this? I assume you don't actually make money from the evaluation kits so it seems pointless and counter-productive to exclude people who don't have one (i.e. RFduino owners).

    Please reconsider this policy.

  • Changing this is currently being considered internally, and there will most likely be at least some changes to this in the future, but I can unfortunately not guarantee anything with regard to scope or timing.

You can also try to discuss this with our regional sales manager for your area, who may be able to help you. If you don't have his contact information, please send me a PM with your location.

  • Hi,

Any status update about this request?

I have the same problem. I have 8 RFduino and having to buy a DEV or Eval kit just to be able to download the SDK is really annoying.

And I'm sure that there are hundreds of people who have the same issue.

    Best regards,

    JF
