Why is there an ATMEL chip in the nRF 52 DK?

Hello,

I ordered my nRF52 DK from Rigado for their BMD-350 module using the nRF52832 chip, but their DK comes with an additional Atmel chip. Now  I saw the regular nRF 52 DK also has a central chip but is it also Atmel or is it the non-integrated nRF52832? And what is the purpose of the Atmel chip? Does this affect how I make my application for my separate independent BMD-350 (nRF52832) ?

This is the JLink Debugger - which you need for programming and debugging via SWD.
