Mesh SDK v3.1.0 and light switch server app and the segger .emproject file

Hi

I am looking at the file 

\examples\light_switch\server\light_switch_server_nrf52840_xxAA_s140_6_1_0.emProject

and in there I see that there is the line

linker_section_placements_segments="FLASH RX 0x0 0xf8000;RAM RWX 0x20000000 0x3f000"

It shows that total flash is 0x1000 less than the actual available in 840 and the same for RAM - 1K less.

I then had a look at sample SES project files in SDK 15.2.0 and there the flash and ram uses is all that is available in the 840.

Question:

Is there any reason why the Mesh application is telling the linker that both flash and ram are 1K less than the actual amount in the 840?

Note that 0x1000 = 4096 = 4K - not 1K

I stand corrected :-)

However, importantly my question is why the full amount of memory is not used.
