Starting with nRF52 DK and SeS - J-link firmware

Hi, first post here...

I've been using Nordic in the form of Laird modules and SmartBasic to get my application up & running. Now I want to migrate to using the nRF devices directly so am trying to get to grips with the whole ecosystem which is proving to be.... fun. I'm currently using a nRF52 DK board and Segger Embedded Studio under Windows 10. SDK version 15.0.0

Anyway my first question: I've loaded & compiled a couple of the example apps and when I download them I'm prompted to upgrade the J-Link firmware. But, the one time I tried it, it gave an "Device is not enumerating" error. I don't want to repeat in case I brick my board.

Should the NRF52 DK be compatible enough to accept native J-Link updates?

 Yes, it should be compatible. Have you downloaded the latest version of the Segger J-Link firmware? If not, I would download this from here.

Could you try downloading nrfjprog & programming via nrfjprog:

nrfjprog --program filename.hex --verify --sectorerase

Does that work?

OK good... my main concern was it may have been a clone so incompatible firmware could have bricked it.

Anyway, I downloaded the software & documentation pack from the link you gave, then was looking at the software and  opened J-Flash and let it try an upgrade - which worked fine
