Debugging multiple Dev Kits in same PC

Hello DevZone community!

I'm having trouble debugging more than one board at the same time in a Linux development environment.

For a single board, I can debug either using the debug feature withing SES, or I can use a combination of JLinkExe + JLinkRTTClient in the terminal.

However, in none of these instances can I designate the target which I want to debug. Therefore, the question arises:

1 - Can we select the target if we have more than one Nordic Development kit (PCA10056 in this case) or JLink?

2 - Can we debug more than one of these boards simultaneously in the same computer? Either using two JLinkRTTClients or two SESs ....

As Andrew says, if you are able to see this list in SEGGER, but not able to choose a device from it, you should contact the SEGGER support team, as there is nothing we can do about this.

Thank you Simonr . I asked here because I'm debugging a nordic device and I would think that someone would already have done this before me. So there should be knowledge in this dev. community about how one could debug multiple devices in the same computer. It surprises me no one has manifested knowledge of how to do this in Linux. Thank you.

Again, the process for debugging multiple targets would not be specific to nRF52 - as far as SES and the JLink stuff are concerned, it's just another Cortex-M4.

Hopefully the Segger forum is a bigger pool to draw from - plus Segger staff  do engage there ...

Thanks awneil. Yes I realize that, I've found a solution in SEGGER Foruns. I'll leave it here for further reference if another comes by looking for it:

"in Embedded Studio project options which J-Link to use for which instance under Project-> Edit Options->Debug->J-Link->Host Connections
Change that value to USB S/N where S/N is your serial number e.g. USB 12345678"

I just haven't been able to do it simultaneously with JLinkExe and JLinkRTTClient in the command line. But I'll look for a solution and will post it if I find anything useful...
