about mesh network

hi.....

 i am interested in Mesh ,actually i want to understand the flow of mesh program (eg light switch example )how does it work,how it transferring from client to server , etc? and more i want to replace it to a message data in place of on_off . for this , first of all i want to understand the flow of mesh program . please anyone share  me materials where i can get these stuffs
