Measurement setup for basic analog input signal with nrf52 dk.

I want to simply put signal (sine wave) from signal generator into analog input and use saadc. I have program which uses ain4 and ain5 pins. So I was just wondering how I should setup the wires. Can I just simply attach wire from signal generator to one of those inputs while dk is attached to computer via USB. Do I also need to put signal generator GND to dk's GND pin? Also is the max V(peak-to-peak) around 3V? I want to see if the ADC values are pretty much same when using continous wave.

Sorry for many questions, I have never used this board and I don't want to damage the board.

 Yes. The signal generator and DK need a common ground/reference.

Also is the max V(peak-to-peak) around 3V?

The SAADC has a configurable gain, which defines the maximum voltage. It can be at max 3.6 V using internal reference and 1/6 gain. Please refer to the SAADC documentation and SAADC example in the SDK.
