Power Calculation for a custom device using nRF9160-GPS Tracking Application.

Hi,

We are developing a GPS tracking device using nRF9160 module.

We want to use a battery as long as possible maybe for 7 days.

• Here we need two cases for our application. 

         Case 1: 

         Needs to get GPS tracking data two times per day than how much possible power will be consumed. Any calculation method than please suggest.

         Case 2:

         If we monitor device for every 15 minutes then how much possible power will be consumed. Any calculation method than please suggest.

         Can you please explore more about eDRX, DRX, and PSM for our application and how can we utilize in our application?

• Is nRF9160 fallback support 3G, 2G?

I am new for calculating power consumption so it will be helpful if you can suggest any document or calculation sheet.

The nRF9150 does not support 3G or 2G.

We don't give any out calculation sheet yet, because it's not completely ready. We can give you numbers based on parameters you specify.
