How to change random static bd addr dynamicly using mesh SDK V3.1?

Hello, I just want to set one random static bd addr using mesh SDK v3.1, and it seemed I have set correctly, but the SOC(nrf52840DK) still use the default bd addr which is read from NRF_FICR. the log is as follow

I used this api, but it didn't seem to work.

Problem solved by using the api

sd_ble_gap_addr_set()

but I still want to know why mesh_opt_core_adv_addr_set() won't work.

Hello,

You should check the return value for your SDK function calls. mesh_opt_core_adv_addr_set() returns an uint32_t, as you can see here.

What did it return? NRF_SUCCESS (=0) or something else?

Your sd_ble_gap_addr_set() probably returned 0 (NRF_SUCCESS), but you should check that return value as well.

actually it returns NRF_SUCCESS, but mesh_opt_core_adv_addr_set() can't change the address.

Sorry. this API is used to change the address that is used for Mesh only, not the BLE part. 

So if you send a mesh packet, it will have the originator address equal to the one you set in mesh_opt_core_adv_addr_set(). If you want to change the BLE address, you must use the sd_ble_gap_addr_set().
