Flashing and debugging an external nrf52840 board

Hi,

I'm using the PCA10056 as a JLINK to my custom board. My board is powered by a LiPo battery through VDDH, and I have access to the SWD pins. I'm also using Segger Embedded Studio on Windows.

I get unexpected behaviour. 

I need to flash and debug my board.

My questions:

1. Can I use the Segger Embedded Studio directly or do I need to use another program? 

2. What is the flashing command/procedure? 

3. Do I need to wire any pin except the two SWD ones?

My problem is that straight forward use of SES puts my board's VDD in 3V instead of the default 1.8V and pin 1.09 is trace rather than GPIO. Is there a way to directly use SES to flash in a non-debug mode?

It depends on the power sources. If powered at J2(USB on the short side), it's 3V, as shown in the table of VDD power sources. . If powered at J3 (USB on long side labled nRF USB), the REGOUT0 value is used (High voltage mode).

Debug input and trace indicates p1.09 is TRACEDATA[3].

It should be fine to use SES directly.
